Davis On Ronnie's Rovers

6 September 2012

league leaders Tranmere arrive in South Cheshire this weekend

Steve Davis says that the return of Ronnie Moore to Tranmere Rovers has got them firing again and he envisages a tough game against the current league leaders this weekend. Crewe go into the match on Saturday in great confidence after securing a superb 1-0 win over Coventry City and Davis is looking for more of the same from his team.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash with Rovers, Steve told us: “Tranmere are flying at the moment and Ronnie (Moore) has got them playing a different way. He has added some good players to his squad and he is a very experienced manager at this level.

“They have had a really great start so we envisage a tough game and a good local one too. I am sure they will bring a lot of fans over and it will be another good atmosphere at Gresty Road.

Steve added: “Dario has already been to see them and done a report and I’ve seen them at Vale earlier in the week. They rested a few for that game. They are scoring goals in the league and not letting many in so their confidence will be very high.”
