Could Move for Winger

In the wake of Bunn injury, Davis looks at other options

With the unfortunate news that Harry Bunn could be set to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, Steve Davis says he could re-enter the loan market for a striker or wide man.

Davis wanted to know the extent of the damage to Bunn’s knee before he assessed his options and he has hinted that something could be done before the weekend. A move for our former striker Rob Hulse on emergency loan remains unlikely.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I wanted to know how serious it was with Harry before we started talking about another loan player. I decided not to rush into things last weekend and we have put a move for another central midfield player on hold at the moment because I don’t think it would be right to leave either of our two out.

“If you take a player from the Premier League they will rightly expect to play and I cannot guarantee that at the moment with the two midfielders we have.

“Now with Harry out and Pogbs, improving but not quite fit yet, I could move for a forward or a winger. If one becomes available to us and he is better than what we have here then we would do it.

“I have one or two options from various clubs, with players being offered to us, so we will see what materialises this week.”
