Davis aims for attacking improvement
Steve Davis has used our free week to work on improving us in the final third. The Alex boss has been pleased with our recent performances in a defensive capacity but was disappointed that our forwards didn’t hurt Tranmere Rovers as much as we would have wanted in our last outing.
Ahead of a tough away game at Stevenage, the Crewe Alexandra boss told the club’s official web-site: “It has been a long week but a good week because we were able to do a lot of work with the players.
“We have had some long days and worked on what needs improving. It is all-ongoing and the players enjoy trying to become better. The reserves played against Blackpool on Tuesday and did really well, so it has been a good build up to the Stevenage game.
“The defending has been solid in recent games and I have been pleased with them. Now we have to become better in the final third and hurt teams more. We haven’t been clinical enough in recent games and got behind teams and hurt them.
“We have to take our chances better and be better because Stevenage will be well organised and difficult to penetrate.”
