Abdul getting back to his best

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager says his industrious midfielder Abdul Osman produced the type of performance against Coventry City on Saturday that we should expect from the former Northampton man.

Osman was back to his battling best, as Crewe recorded a fantastic 1-0 win over the Sky Blues to move into the top half of the League One table. In the wake of Ashley Westwood moving to Aston Villa, Osman teamed up with new captain Luke Murphy in the centre of midfield and screened our back four extremely well. His final act summarised his hard working display, as he took a volley straight in the face in stoppage time!

Steve told crewealex.net: “Abdul’s form has suffered in the last couple of games. It wouldn’t be at the level he would have liked or we would like but he was back on track on Saturday.

“He was back to his best and showed what we was. He is a determined, athletic lad who is competitive and hard working. He does give away too many fouls, mainly because of the way he plays because he is an all-action player.

He added: “His passing will improve here with us, and he is a great player who slotted in really well alongside Murph. They haven’t played together too much as a partnership so they will only improve over time.”
