Davis says his Alex side have to match Oldham's work ethic tonight

Crewe Alexandra will face an experienced Oldham Athletic side this evening with manager Steve Davis expecting another tough encounter against Paul Dickov’s side. The Latics will be looking to really kick-start their season at Gresty Road after winning just once this season. Dickov’s side have fallen into the bottom four and they will be looking to bounce back after losing in the last minute to Coventry City on Saturday.

Steve told crewealex.net: “We have had Oldham watched and have reports on them and they are a decent side, better than their league position suggests. Dario went to watch them on Saturday and we know they work hard, are organised and they will be fighting to move up the league.

“Paul will have them working hard, scrapping and we will have to match their fight and desire and then it will be important what we do in possession.

Steve added: “There are no easy games in this division and we have got to remain focussed and approach it in the right frame of mind.”
