Gary Is At Home With Yeovil

Davis praise for the job Johnson has done at Huish Park

Steve Davis says his opposite number Gary Johnson has got Yeovil flying this season and the visit of Yeovil Town this weekend will be another tough assignment for his Crewe Alexandra side. Yeovil have won four of their last five games and are nicely placed in mid-table after previously topping the League One table earlier in the season for the first time in their history.

The Glovers come into the game on the back of a fine 3-1 win at Shrewsbury in mid-week but Davis stresses that his team are in good form too after coming from behind to defeat Swindon on Tuesday night.

Ahead of an intriguing game at Gresty Road, Steve told crewealex.net:  “Gary has done a great job and it seems a home-from-home for him at Yeovil. Gary did well in the past and took them into the Football League.

“He has a wealth of coaching experience and has Championship experience with the likes of Bristol City and Peterborough, so we know they will be a good side. They will be organised under Gary and they will play football.

“It should be an entertaining game and another home game in front of our crowd will make for a god atmosphere. The fans have been fantastic of late and have really got behind the lads.

“Yeovil have made a good start to the season and come into the game in good form. They had a great win at Shrewsbury on Tuesday, but then so do we after beating Swindon. We respect all our opponents because they are all tough in this league but we concentrate on what we are going to do.

“If we can play like we can then we believe we can cause any opponent some problems and that is what we will aim to do.”
