Steve Davis on Ryan signing his first pro contract

.Crewe boss Steve Davis says that securing the high-rated 17-year-old Ryan Colclough on a three-year contract will be a timely boost for him and for the club. Colclough has certainly made an impression with his early season form which has only been halted in recent weeks due to a fractured jaw sustained in the 1-0 defeat to MK Dons. Winger Colclough has made two appearances for the club and certainly caught the eye with a cameo performance against Leyton Orient in September

Steve was pleased that Colclough didn’t hesitate to sign his first pro contract with the club. “It is really good news for the club and for Ryan himself, ‘said Steve. 

“It is something I wanted to do before he broke his jaw and it was even more of a reason to give him a lift. Ryan is a talented lad and we have to make sure we secure those sort of players.

Steve added: “We don’t want him to go anywhere else, he is at the right club and I am delighted he has signed. He couldn't wait to sign.”
