Davis Declares Lowe Interest

Steve says experienced Ryan could fit the bill

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that he could be interested in taking our former striker Ryan Lowe on loan if he is made available from his parent club MK Dons. Davis has spoken to an agent representing the player a couple of weeks ago but hasn’t followed that through with Lowe in-and-around the Dons team.

Davis has admitted that he may talk with MK Dons Karl Robinson about the availability of Lowe on a short-term loan. The Crewe boss is after extra options in midfield and up front and would prefer an experienced professional rather than a younger one.

Steve told crewealex.net: “I spoke with an agent of Ryan a few weeks ago when it was thought he could be available but we had enough options at the time and I wanted to play our own. I think Ryan is closer to their team now than he was then. He came on as a substitute at the weekend, so I would have to speak with Karl about his availability and how much they would want of his wages.

“I am not sure they would let him out but Ryan is the type we would be interested in. He has experience, has been prolific at this level and certainly knows where the goal is. We know he is a good player and if he was available and at the right price then he is someone we would consider certainly.

“We tend to get offered young ones and it is not easy getting the ones or type you want. We have made a few enquires and we’ll see what happens, but I have always said that we will only do something if it improves us.”
