Ray on the mark as Alex secure a draw

Crewe Alexandra’s U21 this afternoon recorded a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic at Reaseheath. George Ray scored the Alex’s goal midway through the first-half, but the Alex were denied a win after a late equaliser by Wigan man Danny Redmond.

The Alex side featured several second-year scholars, as well as overage players Adam Dugdale and Gregor Robertson, while left-back Andy White stepped up his recovery from injury with a place on the bench.
