Boss Praise For Alex Fans

2 October 2012

Steve says fans support can help push us up the table

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager has praised the club’s supporters and says they need a repeat of their performance at Stadium: MK on Saturday to inspire us to a home win this evening. Davis and his team were boosted by a following of over 700 against the MK Dons and whilst attacking that end of the ground in the second half, Crewe had enough chances to have won the game.

Davis was thrilled with the away following and has been encouraged by the numbers attending home games this season. He is after more of the same and has praised their support since he took over 11 months ago.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “The supporters have been terrific at home up to now and we had a brilliant following at Mk Dons on Saturday. They were fantastic all the way through the game.

“There were a lot of them and I was very proud and went over and applauded them at the end because they really deserved that.

“They have enjoyed the journey up to now and facing the challenges with us and we are still all together. I was saying that when we went on the run last season and made it to Wembley. The fans played a huge part in that.

“We can only achieve things when they are on our side they have been up to now and the performances and results have reflected that. They can push us further and that’s what we need.”
