Midfielder set to miss Walsall trip with groin strain
Crewe Alexandra’s on-loan midfield player Andy Bond is a major doubt for tomorrow’s trip to Walsall after picking up a slight groin strain in training this week. Bond, currently on loan from Colchester United picked up the muscle strain earlier in the week and it has restricted his participation in this weeks’ session.
Bond’s expected absence at the Bescot Stadium could see an immediate return to action for the fit-again Abdul Osman. The combative midfielder travelled to Portsmouth as the spare man last weekend after only training for two days in the build-up to the game at Fratton Park after he overcame an ankle injury sustained in the 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient.
Osman would be a straight swap for Bond, to play alongside captain Luke Murphy. Bond’s loan agreement could still him feature against Swindon and Yeovil.
