Davis tells his players of tough cup-tie ahead against the Brewers

Steve Davis says he expects a tough FA Cup tie against Gary Rowett’s Burton Albion side. The Brewers should have our former players Calvin Zola and Lee Bell in their squad for this weekend’s FA Cup clash at Gresty Road.

Ahead of the second round clash, Steve said: “Burton will be a tough game. We are pleased that we have a home draw, in front of our own crowd and hopefully there will be a good atmosphere inside the stadium. Our fans enjoy the FA Cup and it is not too far for the Burton supporters, so hopefully it will be a decent crowd.

“There is the extra interest with Lee Bell and Calvin Zola coming back to Gresty Road. Our former players have all done well against us this season with Clayton, Nicky Maynard and Shaun all scoring against us, so we will have to be mindful of that.

“We are at home against a club from a lower league so we have a good chance but Gary (Rowett) will have seen us and have them up for it. He was always a winner at a player for various big clubs, so his Burton team will be in the same mould.

“It will be a tough game for us and they have dangerous players, so we will have to play well to progress. We want to be in the hat for the third round draw and have that opportunity of going further or drawing a big Premier League or Championship club away.

“Our main priority though is to do a professional job and get through because there are always upsets and we don’t want that to be us.”
