Davis relishing Sheffield United challenge

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra manager says his side should be relishing the challenge of taking on Sheffield United this evening. The Alex will be looking to cause an upset at Bramall Lane tonight and Davis would love to get one over on his former manager at Barnsley Danny Wilson! Davis is looking forward to testing himself against his former gaffer and says his players are capable of causing an upset similarly to the one achieved at Doncaster Rovers recently.

Ahead of tonight’s game at Sheffield United, Davis told us: “Sheffield United away is a game we all looked for and we will relish the challenge. It will be a tough game but if we can produce our best then there is no reason why we cannot get a positive result.

“We are capable of going there and getting a decent result. We respect them because they are the one of the biggest club in this league and it will be nice to meet up with Danny again. He was my manager at Barnsley and I have the utmost respect for him.

“He has done a great job there and they will be expected to go up this season. With that comes an added pressure and the crowd will be buzzing because of the way things have gone for them so far this season.

Steve added: “It will be a big challenge for us because they have some very good players, but so do we and we have proved at Doncaster that we are capable of surprising a few people.”
