Defender out for two weeks with a slight knee injury
Crewe Alexandra could be without their versatile defender Kelvin Mellor for up to two weeks after a scan revealed a slight problem with his knee. The club are hopeful that the club’s first choice right-back this season could make a return for the home game against Crawley on 24th November, but he remains a doubt for that fixture.
Neil Baker told the club’s official web-site: “Kelvin has undergone a scan on his knee and he has a slight problem there. It is nothing serious and we do not expect him to be long. He won’t be involved tomorrow at Shrewsbury nor at Sheffield United, but the weekend after could be a possibility.
“He is making an improvement so we will have to see. It is nothing long term with him and that’s the main thing.”
