Max Eager To Get Going

Max says he is fit and mentally refreshed after short space out

Max Clayton has told the club’s official web-site that he is fit, fresh and ready to go after overcoming his recent groin strain. The Crewe Alexandra youngster is available for selection again and could be included in the squad to face Shrewsbury this weekend. Clayton has not played since Walsall away and admits that it has been a tough time on the sidelines.

Max, who has scored four goals this season, told crewealex.net: “The decision is up with the manager to select me for the squad but I feel sharp and ready to go again.

“It has been tough and I have done some gruelling work with the physio’s, Barry and Andy Franks but I feel fit and mentally refreshed again. I also feel ready mentally to come back into it but I don’t expect to walk back into the team because the lads are doing well and have won the last two games.

“The points have been the priority and the lads have done really well recently to win at Doncaster and then to come back from 2-0 down against Colchester. We won at Shrewsbury in the JPT but this will be different because it is league points at stake. Hopefully, we can go there and perform as well as we did earlier in the season and get the same result.

Max added: “I have to remain confident that I will get a chance and I have to take it. It’s just been good this week to train and be back out there with the lads again"
