Steve Davis says the wage demands of experienced pro's means Crewe turn to youngsters
Steve Davis says he will continue to bring in young players in on loan because clubs ask too much for more experienced professionals! Davis has added the Newcastle midfielder Brad Inman to his squad and already has Lauri Dalla Valle (Fulham) and Chuks Aneke (Arsenal) at the club on loan.
Steve told crewealex.net: “We have to bring younger ones in because they are the ones we can afford. The more experienced ones are too expensive. Their wages are mostly out of our range and the demands of their clubs are too high.
“The teenagers and the ones like Brad or Lauri who are around 20, 21, 22, are affordable and are good players. It is nice to have those link ups with big Premier League sides and sometimes it is better to have a young player, who is hungry and wants to show what they can do.
“I like them like that, where they want to come and improve and make an impact. It gives them a chance to make a name for themselves.”
