Assistant manager says Bell and Zola will be looking for upset
Neil Baker knows Burton Albion’s experienced midfielder Lee Bell better than most and the club’s assistant manager knows that our former player and development coach at our Academy will be arriving in South Cheshire this weekend looking to win. Bell was released from his second spell at Gresty Road last summer, after helping the team to promotion.
Belly enjoyed a late cameo appearance at Wembley as reward for his outstanding service over two spells and although immensely popular with everyone at the club, Baker knows that Bell and his Burton team-mate Calvin Zola will out to cause an FA Cup upset this weekend.
Ahead of an intriguing cup tie at Gresty Road, Baker said: “It is always nice to get a home draw in the FA Cup and I don’t think you can ask for any more than getting a team from a league below at home. It was the same in the last round against Wycombe and we came through it well.
“We don’t have complacency at this club and will prepare like we always do. Of course, Burton have two players we know well in Lee Bell and Calvin Zola in their squad. It will be nice to see them but hopefully we can send them packing out of the FA Cup.
Bake added: “They both had their up-and-downs at Crewe and everyone knows what a great servant Lee has been to the club both on-and-off the pitch. Knowing Belly, like I do, he will be more than up for it. He will want to win and put us out. He is a determined lad and he will want to do well against us.”
