Alex Agree Osman Deal

25 July 2012

Crewe Alexandra are delighted to announce that they have completed the signing of midfielder Abdul Osman. The 25-year-old former Northampton man has agreed a two-year contract with the club and has linked up with the Alex squad as they continue to train at Tidworth Army Camp.

Osman, who first had an extended trial with the Alex back in 2007, returned to South Cheshire earlier this summer to train with the Railwaymen and produced impressive performances in friendly wins over Congleton Town and Quorn.

After his extended trial with Crewe, Osman moved to Scotland for a spell with Gretna before joining Northampton Town where he made over 100 appearances before joining Greek side Kerkyra last summer.

Despite featuring in the vast majority of the games in the Greek Premier League, Osman would leave the club earlier this summer and arrive back in South Cheshire to train with the Alex.

With Crewe boss Steve Davis keen to bolster his midfield ranks, Osman soon caught his eye and the Alex have now swooped to sign the powerful midfielder. Osman has passed a medical and now follows Mark Ellis, Mathias Pogba, Gregor Robertson and Michael West in joining the Alex this summer.
