Turton Pleased With Progress

Ollie Turton says he is beginning to feel a part of the first team picture

With Matt Tootle back from suspension this weekend, Oliver Turton fully appreciates that he faces a fight to keep his place in the starting XI for the visit of Bury. Turton performed admirably in the 3-1 win over Preston North End and rightly earned praised from the manager afterwards after reverting back to full-back at Deepdale. His other previous league start for the club against Yeovil saw him operate in midfield.

Turton was pleased with the way things went at Preston both individually and collectively: “It was my birthday on the Thursday and then to be told I was starting at Preston was just the perfect week for me. To come away with the three points as well and to be a part of the first-team was really good.

“I was pleased with the way I played and everyone put in a really good shift. It was a great win for us. I am beginning to feel a part of the first-team now and I just have to keep progressing and hopefully get a few more starts along the way this season.

“I just have to keep working hard and show what I can do because the competition for places is very intense. I don’t really mind where I play. I would play wherever the manager wants me to and with the busy Christmas period coming up, hopefully I will be involved again.”
