Selection Choices to Be Made

After making four mid-week changes and having Tootle susended gives boss selection problem

Steve Davis is hoping that his captain Luke Murphy will have shaken off a groin injury to make himself available for selection for Saturday’s trip to Preston. Murphy missed the mid-week shoot-out win over Doncaster Rovers, as Davis elected to give his influential midfielder a bit of rest.

The Crewe boss has a selection headache to make, especially at right-back as Matt Tootle is serving a one-match suspension after receiving the first red card of his career on Tuesday night. With Kelvin Mellor (knee) also not yet ready to return to first team action, there is a certainly a place up for grabs at full-back.

Choices will also have to be made after Steve Phillips, Adam Dugdale, the on-loan Brad Inman and Max Clayton were all give the opportunity to impress against Doncaster Rovers.

Striker AJ Leitch-Smith (ankle) is back in training but is not ready to return for the first-team.
