Steve Davis says players can adapt to system change
Steve Davis says he will assess his players in today’s final training session before he decides on what formation to implement against Bournemouth. Davis has operated with a 3-5-2 formation but switched to a 4-4-2 formation in the second half to break Bury down last weekend. Crewe have also taken advantage of the versatility of our personnel to play 4-3-3 recently as well.
Davis says the adaptability of his team and their ability to play in several positions is keeping every squad member of their toes as we enter the busy Christmas period.
Steve told crewealex.net: “The players have worked hard and put the work in out on the training ground. We have only conceded one goal in our last two matches and have become hard to beat.
“We have tightened up and the formation has something to do with that because we have three solid centre-halves there and it has allowed our wing backs to get forward and for us to operate with the three in midfield, two of which like to get forward and support the attack.
Steve added: “We use a system to suit the players we have available and I know that I can change it and the players will adapt.”
