Martin Signs New Contract

10 December 2012

Alex keeper puts pen-to-paper until summer of 2014

Crewe Alexandra are delighted to announce that goalkeeper Alan Martin has agreed a new 18-month deal with the club. The likeable shot-stopper will now be contracted with the club until the summer of 2014.

Martin’s new deal completes an excellent few months for the 23-year-old. With questions over his future at the club in the summer, the former Scotland U21 international returned to pre-season training and earned himself a short-term deal with the club.

With Steve Phillips injured, Martin was then given his chance to stake a claim during pre-season and he would go on to start the season in the side. Martin certainly impressed, and has since featured in all of Crewe’s league games this term, fighting off stiff competition from Phillips after his return to fitness.

Martin will now be looking for more of the same over the coming months as he bids to remain the number one keeper at the club.

Subscribers to Player will be able to see an exclusive interview with Alan on Crewe Alex Player tomorrow.
