Winger struggling with illness ahead of Boundary Park trip

Bryon Moore has been suffering with illness over the last 24 hours and will be checked over before Steve Davis decides on his squad to travel to Oldham. The Alex boss has recently lost Alan Martin through illness and defender Jon Guthrie, who shares a house with the Crewe Alexandra goalkeeper, has also been struggling this week.

Moore came on at Tranmere on Boxing Day as a second half substitute along with Max Clayton as manager Steve Davis attempted to freshen up his attack. Crewe ended up losing 2-1 after taking the lead through on-loan midfielder Brad Inman.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “I have virtually a fully fit squad to choose from but we do have a few struggling with illness. Alan is back but has been a bit groggy after having the flu and Jon shares a house with him, so he has picked up a heavy cold as well.

“Byron has been ill over the last 24 hours, so we will have to check on him to see if he can be involved at Oldham.”
