Davis says door open for change...
Steve Davis says his players know that he expects 100% effort for the cause. The Crewe Alexandra manager was disappointed with the level of performance from some of his players in Saturday’s disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Burton Albion in the FA Cup and he has warned that he will continue to keep his squad on their toes by making chances. The Alex boss has already hinted that he is willing to change things for this evening’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Doncaster Rovers and he wants them coming into the team to fight for their place.
Steve told crewealex.net: “The players know what to expect. They know I want 100% for the cause and for Crewe and that is I don’t get that then I am prepared to change it. I thought we didn’t get that fight from some on Saturday.
“Maybe they were a bit tired and in a need of rest, but I can’t have anyone resting on their laurels thinking that they are comfortable. I will keep them on their toes and increase the competition for places. “
