He Have Goal Threat Now

24 December 2012

Steve Davis pleased that his side can now score from all areas

The boss wanted a threat running throughout his team and now feels that we can score goals from various positions.  Steve Davis believes that he has solved our lack of a goal threat from the start of the season with the summer signing of Mathias Pogba and the loan acquisitions of Lauri Dalle Valle, Brad Inman and Chuks Aneke.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We added Pogs in the summer and he has had a good return of goals so far. He is in double figures and has done very well for us. He can still improve and he is keen to learn.

“Lauri was flying before he had that little injury and we know Max can score goals. We have AJ back and that is a real plus for us. He is arguably the best finisher in the club. We could do with Byron being more of a threat. He has shown what we can do with the amount of goals he scored last season and now he has to reproduce that.

“The two midfielders Brad and Murph have shown that they can both score goals and we are a threat from set-plays with the three centre-halves. Toots gets in good positions and although he hasn’t really shown it in the games yet, Gregor can get in those threating positions as well.

“So I am happy that we can score goals from anywhere on the pitch and the competition is good.”
