Graham Is A Very Good Manager

7 December 2012

Steve Davis on his opposite number tomorrow Graham Westley

Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis says that his counterpart at Preston North End, Graham Westley will be determined to bring success to the Deepdale club sooner rather than later. Preston are currently a point above Crewe in the League One table and are handily poised for a push towards the play-off places in the second half of the season.

Westley, who enjoyed fantastic success as manager of his previous club Stevenage, has certainly applied his own stamp on his Preston squad and Davis feels they will be in the mix come the end of the season.

Ahead of our trip to Preston, Steve told the club’s official web-site: “Graham Westley is a person and a manager who’s very determined to get what he wants.

“After coming in at Preston, he made a lot of changes. A lot of players left and a lot of players joined. He brought in the players that he wanted. Sometimes that’s the best thing to do.

“Graham has always been someone who can get the best out of those players and he did a fantastic job at Stevenage. He is a good manager and will want to be successful there as soon as he can.

“Preston have had a decent start to the season. They’re a point ahead of us and are poised to make a challenge. They’ve had a similar season to us at the moment, a few mixed results, so they’ll be difficult to beat especially at home.”
