Steve says Oldham remain one of the best side's we have faced this season

Steve Davis has told the club’s official web-site that Paul Dickov’s Oldham Athletic side were one of the best teams his side has faced this season.

The Latics were exceptional against us at the beginning of October when winning 2-0 at Gresty Road.

Steve told the club’s official web-site: “We won’t approach the game any differently. We always try and collect maximise points and that will be our aim at Oldham this weekend.

“We are not going to win every game but we can go on this little runs of three or four games before we suffer a defeat then I would be happy with that. We have to keep searching for that consistently.

“I am sure Paul (Dickov) at Oldham will be feeling the same as I do. It can be frustrating because he has seen team compete with the very best in the division in this league. We have been the same.

“Oldham on their day have shown they are a very good side and they certainly played well when they came to our ground earlier in the season. They worked hard for their manager that night and deserved their win.

“We didn’t play as well as we could and players like Derbyshire, who has now returned to Nottingham Forest and Jose Baxter caused us a lot of problems. Baxter is a good player who plays off the front and is creative.

 Steve added: “They were as good as we have faced all season but like us they have not had their days all season. They work hard, pressurise and have real quality as well and we will have to play well to get a result.”
