Boss on game-changer Aneke after he extends his loan spell

January and has so far scored four goals during his 17 appearances. Still only 19, Steve believes there is still more to come from the creative playmaker. stSteve Davis was keen to extend Chuks Aneke’s loan deal spell with us because the Arsenal youngster offers us something different operating off the front. Aneke extended his stay until 21

Steve told crewealex.net: “We were keen to extend Chuks’ stay with us because he does offer us something different. He is a creative player in the final third of the pitch and can play a telling pass.

“He showed that again against Bury at the weekend when he played Brad (Inman) in. He was a little unlucky to be withdrawn at half-time because we wanted to change the shape and system in the second half. I just felt I needed someone to do more off the ball and perhaps run at the opposition a bit more.

“Chuks has done well for us and has a good period now of playing games and settling in. He is still only 19 and I’m sure there is more to come from him. It is his first real taste of regular football and he is learning all the time.

“He is one who does find it hard to play Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday and needs a rest sometimes, but I’m sure he will again have a big impact for us over the month.”
