"Bury Are A Dangerous Opponent"

14 December 2012

Bakes on Blackwell's Shakers

Neil Baker says that Bury will be a ‘dangerous opponent for us’ this weekend because an in-form Crewe Alexandra will start as favourites. The Alex have lost just twice in their last eight games, with one of those defeats coming in the FA Cup to Burton Albion.

Baker says that the appointment of the experienced Kevin Blackwell as manager has certainly helped transform Bury’s early season form but with Crewe starting as favourites at Gresty Road, the club’s assistant manager says that it will be a ‘game of patience.’

Bakes told the club’s official web-site: “Bury is a dangerous games for us, mainly because of the expectations on us. We are expected to win and our home supporters will expect us to win and with that comes different problems.

“When you are the favourites for the game, it can become frustrating when you don’t score early. It needs to be a game of patience because Kevin will have them prepared well, organised and disciplined in their shape.

“Kevin has improved them and we know at this level that there are no easy games. The managers and teams are improving and Kevin has great experience.”
