Abdul says Railwaymen capable of getting result at Deepdale

Combative midfielder Abdul Osman says he is looking forward to league business on Saturday at Preston North End after helping knock the highly-fancied Doncaster Rovers out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Osman rounded off a man-of-the-match performance in the Northern Section Quarter-Final with a calmly taken penalty in the shoot-out and now he is targeting a positive result at Deepdale this weekend.

Abdul told the club’s official web-site:  “It was nice to get through on Tuesday. We thought we were a bit unlucky not to have done the job in 90 minutes but we took some good penalties and can now look forward to another tie in January.

“We have had two tough cup-ties and we were all disappointed to go out of the FA Cup like we did against Burton Albion. We do take it each game at a time and it is always nice to be involved in cup competitions, but the league remains the priority.

“We have been going reasonably well and have had some good results against some big clubs, so we will be approaching the game on Saturday, no differently. We feel we can go to Preston and put on a decent show and get a result. We have proved that on our day we can beat anyone in this league. We are a decent side.

“I’ve never played at Deepdale myself, but from what I’ve seen it is a really impressive stadium and I’m sure it will be a great place to play.”
