Crewe Alexandra Under 23s made it six straight victories with a controlled 3-1 success over Bolton Wanderers at the Alexandra Stadium.

Alex Morris' side fell behind early on, but had hit back three times themselves by the half hour mark through Owen Dale & Chris Porter (2) to secure all three Professional Development League 2 points.

Wanderers took the lead when Joe Pritchard finished neatly in just the 14th minute when he controlled a first time effort from the edge of the box into the bottom corner after a neat ball inside by Luca Navarro.

Crewe responsed immediately & to devastating effect. Owen Dale levelled just three minutes later, slamming an unstoppable shot high into the roof of the net from the edge of the box when released in behind the defence.

Veteran striker Chris Porter then struck twice in the 25th & 30th minutes to make it 3-1 & complete an impressive turnaround in such a short space of time.

Firstly, he challenged Trotters goalkeeper James Aspinall aerially from a Kevin O'Connor cross, & with the stopper rooted to the floor he made his power tell to force the ball into the net.

Then he reacted quickest after Dale's 20-yards shot was parried into his path by Aspinall, side-footing home past the helpess keeper.

The three points were all but secured there and then, with the tempo of the game dropping & Crewe happy to stroke the ball around the park to comfortably see out the match.
