Crewe Alexandra Under 23's continued their fine form with an impressive 3-2 victory at Nottingham Forest.
Alex Morris' side had previously only conceded one goal in four games, but despite conceding twice in the East Midlands, his side still came out on top.
Following on from Monday's 0-0 draw with Watford, Morris was handed a boost with the return of striker Chris Porter, who got 45 minutes under his belt for the first time since January following injury.
Billy Sass-Davies, Ollie Finney & Travis Johnson got the goals to secure victory in an end-to-end encounter.
The hosts took the lead inside eight minutes, Joe Lynch slipping in midfield to allow a Forest midfielder to thread a through-ball to the striker for a neat finish one-on-one.
Crewe levelled on 33 minutes, Lynch's devilish free-kick outfoxed the Forest keeper & fell to Sass-Davies to fire into the roof of the net from close range.
Ten minutes ino the second-half and the Alex were ahead for the first time, Rio Adebisi winning the ball back high up the pitch to allow Finney to play a neat one-two with Lewis Reilly before scrambling the ball home via a deflection.
Crewe had several chances to extend the lead before being pegged back on 70 minutes by Forest after a good move and a clever finish past Jaaskelainen.
But the advantage was restored immediately from the restart, Lynch with an inswinging ball from the left which was met by right full-back Johnson at the far post to head home.
Crewe closed the game out well from there on in, but they had Jaaskelainen to thank for seeing out the victory when he saved a one-on-one in the last minute.
The next game for the Alex U23's is a home tie with Barnsley on Wednesday 4 April at the Alexandra Stadium, 1pm kick-off.
