U18 Report & Goals: Crewe 3-1 QPR

12 September 2019

Apologies, this video is unvailable.

Lee Bell's Crewe Alexandra Under 18s recorded an impressive 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers in the U18 Professional Development League 2 at Reaseheath.

Goals from Danny Lokko, Jakob Priestman & a Hoops own goal secured all thre points to the Alex.

The Alex took a 15th minute lead when Joe Robbin's low cross from the right of the box was turned into his own net by a QPR defender.

Despite that early boost for Crewe, the R's pulled level before half-time, nabbing possession on the Crewe right & storming in-field before the striker slotted a low finish into the corner of Andrew Walklate's net.

The young Railwaymen stepped it up a notch in the second period and regained the lead again with 67 on the clock, Lokko pouncing inside the six-yard box to turn home Nathan Woodthorpe's attempted shot from the edge of the area.

With the visitors pushing for another equaliser, Crewe made the game safe eight minutes from time. Priestman picked the ball up from 30-yards from Tyreece Onyeka's pass & drove forward slightly before unleashing a super strike into the bottom corner.

That was a first win of the new season confirmed after three draws in the opening four games, with Bell's side set to face Sheffield Wednesday next up.

Crewe: Walklate, Djalo, Woodthorpe, Hartshorn, Southern, Allen (Levey, 80), Priestman, Robbins (c), Lomas, Onyeka, Lokko
