U18 Report & Goals: Crewe 2-2 Millwall

13 September 2018

Apologies, this video is unvailable.

Crewe Alexandra Under 18's scored a last minute leveller to earn a share of the spoils against Millwall at The Alexandra Park Training Ground.

Lee Bell's side have now won once, drawn twice & lost once in their opening four games of the PDL2 season, with a trip to Birmingham City coming up on Saturday.

Things couldn't have started any better for the Alex. Taking the kick-off, they played the ball up-field & won a penalty-kick within the first 30 seconds. Connor Heath stepped up to the spot to slide the ball into the corner for a 1-0 lead.

That's the way it stayed until after the break, when Millwall twice struck to take a lead.

First, a corner was partly cleared by the Alex defence & a Lions made shifted the ball from under his feet & curled an unstoppable shot into the top corner - clipping the underside of the bar on its way in.

A short time later the second arrived when a Millwall player got down to the left by-line to put over a low cross - and an unlucky Alex defender could only divert the ball into his own net.

But Bell's boys didn't give up. They pushed hard for an equaliser, and it came with 90 minutes on the clock. First year substitute Tyreece Onyeka steered a controlled low effort into the bottom corner from seven yards after he was left unmarked from a deep Alex free-kick pumped onto the head of fellow sub Malachi Linton for the knock-down.

Crewe: Booth, Allen, Woodthorpe, Southern (Linton), Fenton, Goodrich (Wrench), Djalo, Heath, Robbins, Hartshorn (Onyeka), Priestman
