Goals: Robbins (20)
Crewe Alexandra Under 18s fell to a 2-1 defeat to Leeds United at Reaseheath, with a team featuring two Under 16 players as injury & fatigue caught up with Lee Bell's squad following three games in a week.
The Alex took the lead in the 20th minute, Tyreece Onyeka squaring the ball just outisde the box for the onrushing Joe Robbins to strike first time into the top corner.
That lead was held into half-time, but Leeds hit back to great effect after the break, equalising with a cross-shot just inside the area that squeezed past goalkeeper Walklate into the bottom corner.
The visitors continued to put on pressure and the winning goal arrived when a driven cross from the flew past a number of Crewe & Leeds bodies & into the far corner.
Not an ideal result after the highs of beating Morecambe in the FA Youth Cup the previous week, but with a second round game with Salford City to soon look forward to.
