Crewe Alexandra in the Community
Crewe Alexandra in the Community at Shavington was opened in August 1999 and hosts some of the most innovative facilities in the UK. The aim of Crewe Alexandra in the Community is to forge close links with the local community and to offer activities to social groups in the South Cheshire area and beyond. It has proved extremely popular with over 5,000 visitors each week.
The newly refurbished pitch allows the highly qualified FA coaches to provide a wide range of coaching and other soccer-based activities to all ages in the local area. Crewe Alexandra in the Community takes great pride in providing a safe, fun and educational environment for the people of South Cheshire to enjoy a game of football or other sports. As proven in the past, former Crewe Alexandra professionals have all come through the youth ranks at the Shavington surface.
Crewe Alexandra in the Community offers a wide range of activities and courses for all ages.

In September 2022, FA Chair Debbie Hewitt MBE, EFL CEO Trevor Birch, and Cheshire East Mayor David Marren, joined local dignitaries to officially open Crewe Alexandra in the Community’s (CAITC) new state-of-the-art synthetic pitch.
They celebrated the completion of an ambitious £400,000 project to create the best playing surface in South Cheshire, at the centre in Crewe Road, Shavington.
Now the FIFA-quality pitch, which can accommodate a full-sized game or six small-sided matches, is accessible to members of the public.
And it will bring huge benefits to the many services already provided at the facility, which attracts around 5,000 visitors each week.
There is so much on offer at Crewe Alexandra in the Community!
