Entering his eight season with the Railwaymen, the attacking midfielder has experienced a rollercoaster ride throughout his time in South Cheshire.

Following making his debut as a scholar against Swindon Town, he became an Alex regular towards the back end of the 2015/16 season and has gone from stride to stride since then, racking up over 200 league appearances under managers Steve Davis, David Artell and now Alex Morris.

Having signed new two-year deal last summer, Ainley will look to play a major role in Alex’s first tenure in charge and hopes his fine contribution on the pitch will help the Railwaymen to a succesful season.
