Born: 11/10/1990 – Widnes

A versatile defender who signed professional in July 2009 and is firmly established in the Alex side having made over 200 appearances.

Tootle made his debut against Northampton Town in November 2009, and would score his first goal for the club in a 2-2 draw with Rochdale.

He continued to impress during the 2010/11 season after moving to a right-back position and his performances would see him win the Crewe Young Player of the Year award.

The 2011/12 season saw Tootle move past 100 games for the club as the Alex achieved promotion to League One. The 2012/13 saw Tootle score his second Alex goal against Leyton Orient, and play a regular part for the Alex in the JPT win.

The 2013/14 campaign was perhaps Tootle's most impressive, putting together a string of performances to help keep the Alex in League One as he went on to win the Players' Player and Supporters' Player of the Season Awards.
