The Alexandra Soccer Centre
The Alexandra Soccer Centre
The Alexandra Soccer Centre at Shavington was opened in August 1999 and hosts some of the most innovative facilities in the UK. The aim of the Soccer Centre is to forge close links with the local community and to offer activities to social groups in the South Cheshire area and beyond. It has proved extremely popular with a larger population of the local community, regardless of sex, age or ability.
The full-sized cushioned Astroturf and special shock-absorbent goalkeeping area allows our FA qualified coaches to provide a wide range of coaching and other soccer-based activities. The Soccer Centre takes great pride in providing a safe, fun and educational area for local people to enjoy the game of football. It also encourages the better players around the area to be selected for the Crewe Alexandra Academy. Players such as Rob Hulse, Stephen Foster and Seth Johnson have all come through the youth ranks at Crewe.
During 2007 some further developments were made to the Soccer Centre to improve the already top facilities offered, a new car park was added to accomodate the demand, a new pitch was layed, new astroturf and a new stand for the spectators.
The Soccer Centre host a wide range of activities and includes courses for girls, tiny-tots, children with special needs and goalkeepers. For all the information you can log on to their website www.alexsoccercentre.com
