Crewe Alexandra midfielder Lee Bell says the team is moving in the right direction after collecting four points from the last two league games, while also overcoming Derby County in the Carling Cup and holding Ipswich Town until extra-time.
Bell was pleased with the point picked up at Lincoln on Saturday but admits that we could have collected all three if we had been able to take one or two of our chances in the 1-1 draw.
Bell told Crewe Alex Player: "We have managed to pick up 4 points from the last two league games and that is a step in the right direction. We actually had our chances to win the game on Saturday but couldn't quite finish them off. Despite that it was still a good point.
"We could have scored 3 or 4 goals at Lincoln and I am not just saying that because the chances were there. We don't want to be saying that every week but we have shown that we are good enough to create a lot of chances in games. If we weren't doing that then I we would be more concerned.
"I said recently that someone was due a hammering and we did that against Barnet when we scored seven. We then had a tough game against Ipswich that went to extra-time. Saying that we finished strongly at Lincoln and looked the more likely side to score.
"As a midfield we would like to chip in with a few more goals. Maybe not me as much because I am not used to scoring too many but certainly Murph and Westy have that in their locker.
Lee added: "As a team we don't look like conceding too many goals, so that is a real plus. All we have to do is to take one or two more in the games and we could go on a decent run because there doesn't look like there is a really outstanding team in the league who is going to run away with things."
