Summer signing Danny Blanchett is targeting a home win against Derby County this evening to reward the fans for their loyal support on Saturday. Blanchett was left frustrated after his new club narrowly lost 1-0 to the club he represented on loan last season and he is now determined to get that first win as soon as possible.
Danny told crewealex.net: "We just needed that end product on Saturday, and when we do get it we will score goals and get results. We were virtually solid throughout on Saturday so that was a real positive and we have got to carry on being like that.
"It is great to play big clubs like Derby and test yourself against players of that level. There will also be a few former Crewe players in the Derby team so that gives it an extra incentive for everyone. It should be a good night.
"We just want that first win as soon as we can and there would be no better confidence boost than to get that against Derby tonight. A win against a Championship club would give us a real spark.
"We are going out there to win it and to progress to the next round and build some momentum. You always have a chance and we are at home in front our fans.
Dan added: "The fans were brilliant on Saturday against Hereford. They stuck with the team and were getting behind us and egging us on. We would like to win for them and get our home form going."
