Miller Hoping to Make Most Of Chance

Posted on: Fri 12 Feb 2010

Shaun Miller is hoping to get another chance to prove that he can develop into the prolific goalscorer his manager believes he will become. Dario Gradi has championed his Academy graduate as the most clinical finisher at the club and a recent late equaliser against Torquay United has certainly boosted his confidence going into tonight's away trip to Burton.

Miller, who has suffered more than his fair share of niggling injuries and illness this season, is now hoping for a sustained run in the side under his mentor.

Shaun told Crewe Alex Player: "I would have liked to have played more games and scored more goals for the team. The niggling injuries haven't helped me and it has been difficult to get a sustained run in the team.

"I know I can improve. Everyone can improve and now I just want to work as hard as I can for the team and score as many goals as I can. It is important that we go on a run now. No one here is giving up on things now but we cannot afford to have too many slip ups."

Miller is hopeful of leading the Alex attack again this evening and expects a tough encounter against a side enjoying their best run of the season right now.

Shaun told us: "Burton have been on a good run and picked up some points. They are a good side and try and play football the right way.

"It is a game to look forward too because they will come out and play. Hopefully, we can go there and impose our style on them and create some chances."
