McManus Ready To Fulfil His Potential
Crewe Alexandra's newest signing Scott McManus had admitted that his move to the Alexandra Stadium is a big deal for him as he makes the move up from non-league.
The former Manchester United youngster has spent time in non-league recently before finding himself on trial with Nottingham Forest and then being offered a big opportunity here at Crewe Alexandra and the 19-year-pld admits that it is a real chance for him to progress his career after working an average job.
Scott told Crewe Alex World: "I was semi-pro mostly before I came here. When I was a kid, I was picked up by Manchester United but I stopped playing for a little while after that and was working a normal job.
"I got picked back up again though and then I had a trial with Nottingham Forest, and now here I am, signing for the club I would prefer to be at and I can't wait to get started."
As an athletic left back that likes to push forward, Scott will provide some stiff competition for Billy Jones, and although it is all going to be a little different than what he is used to he says that he is up for the challenge and ready to fulfil his potential.
He says: "I am hoping that by coming here I can follow in the footsteps of all the other great players that have come from this club. It has a good history for producing players. I have a good opportunity here I think and there is a real chance for me to progress with my career."
