Young striker Shaun Miller has been putting in the work at the training ground and it seems to have paid off as Steve Holland and the coaching staff continue to talk about his improvements.

Having seen his chances last year limited, Miller has a big season ahead of him and is more than determined to grasp it with both hands.

Shaun told Crewe Alex World: "I've spoken to Steve and I feel like I'm hopefully going to get a good run this season, if I just keep improving then there is no reason why I can't have a run in the team.

"I am definitely feeling fitter, and stronger as well. I just need to keep getting minutes under my belt over pre-season, as I did at Biddulph and we'll see what happens for Brighton.

As Shaun states, throughout pre-season so far a real mixture of players have been used, but the crunch comes on Tuesday evening when just one team will feature against Wrexham and Shaun knows that the decision is a big one, and should his chance come it's up to him from then on.

He says: "Obviously we have played two teams in all the friendlies so far, so a decision has to be made for Wrexham, so we will have to see how it goes, but if I have been working hard and if I am given my chance then I will work even harder to keep it."
