Steve Jones is hoping to end the season on a high after having his campaign interrupted by niggling injuries. The Northern Ireland International will be travelling to Bournemouth for tomorrow's vital encounter but may have to settle for a place on the substitutes bench as Steve Holland keeps faith with his in-form front three.

Jones is just hoping to get some more minutes on the pitch after agreeing to rejoin the Alex on emergency loan from Burnley. He was introduced as a late sub against Cheltenham last weekend for hat-trick hero Nicky Maynard.

It has been a frustrating season for Jonah. After overcoming a knee ligament injury to return here on loan, he was then struck down by a bizarre back spasm whilst training. Now seemingly over his latest set-back, he wants to help Crewe remain in League One by picking up a positive result at Bournemouth.

Steve told Crewe Alex World: "I came through 90 minutes of our reserve game at Macclesfield with no trouble. I felt good and now I just want to be involved in the two remaining games.

"It has been a very frustrating season for me. I have never really had any injuries in my career before and to be missing games is a totally different experience for me. I think the longest I have ever been out previous to this season has been about two weeks!

"It has been one niggling injury after another, especially in the second half of the season. It has been do disappointing. I was training here at Crewe and suffered a back spasm. I have never had any trouble with my back and it took me by surprise.

"The physio's have told me that it can happen to anyone and I am feel fine now. I am just looking forward to be involved in what should be a positive end to the season for Crewe."

Jonah has targeted a postitive result at the Fitness First Stadium tomorrow to make sure Crewe are playing at this level next season.

Steve told us: "It has been a disappointing season for everyone at Crewe. I could sense that when I came back. No-one is happy at how the season has panned out and with the players we have we shouldn't be battling against relegation.

"It is difficult for me to comment on why that has happened, but obviously when you take out the goals of Nicky Maynard then that is going to affect any side. He has been a big miss this season. You can see the difference he makes.

"We will be looking to win and get the job done. It won't be easy because Bournemouth are fighting for their lives. They are at home and have some good players. I know they have had a tough time of it with administration but they still have some very good players there. We know about Vokes and Kuffour.

"Darren Anderton is an ex-England International and is still very influential for them, so it hasn't surprised me that they have been winning games of late. They are a good side and if it hadn't been for their 10-point deduction then they would have been clear of danger, or close to it.

"Saying that we are on a good run ourselves and with Nicky we are always capable of scoring goals against anyone. I think we can go that optimistically thinking we can get the result we need."
