Kenny Lunt has told Crewe Alex World that he is delighted to back at Gresty Road and back involved with competitive football. Lunt, who has signed on emergency loan from Sheffield Wednesday for an initial month has grown increasingly frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities at Hillsborough. He has been involved in just eight matches this season and has been desperate to play more first-team games since the turn of the year.

On his return to the Alexandra Stadium, Lunt told the official web-site: "I am really looking forward to coming back to Crewe and start to play some games again. It has been great to see the lads and the staff again because I really enjoyed my time at Crewe last time around.

"I don't think I have a fair opportunity at Sheffield Wednesday this season, so I needed to get out and play some games again. I have started 3 games this season and we haven't done so well. Last season I played over 30 and we were tenth in the table, so I don't think I've had a fair chance this year.

"I need games and I want to be playing. I've been training all week with nothing to look forward too on the Saturday, and Crewe have again given me a chance to play competitive football. Hopefully, I can come here and do them a favour by helping them pick up more points and help them move up the table.

Ken adds: "I know all about Crewe, they try and play football the right way and I know a lot of the lads. The coaching staff have been brilliant for me throughout my career and I just want to come here, play some game and help Crewe to some more positive results."

He added: "I've been back at Crewe a few times to watch this season and there is still a lot of ability in the squad. They are not a million miles away, but like it is in the Championship, anyone can beat anyone and that is what makes it so competitive."
