O'Donnell On Orient Challenge
With the news that Chris McCready will not be making the trip down South to face Leyton Orient this evening, his current understudy Daniel O'Donnell is eyeing another good performance and a morale boosting away win.
Following the disappointment of losing 3-0 to Brighton, O'Donnell performed admirably against Swansea at the weekend and helped the club fight back from 2-0 down to grab a share of the spoils against the current league leaders. O'Donnell says that result and the manner in which it was achieved has given the dressing room a lift ahead of some more tough encounters coming up in February.
Danny told the club's official web-site: "Leyton Orient are a good side and they defeated us 2-0 earlier on in the season. We will be looking to avenge that result tonight and hopefully pick up another positive result.
"We haven't done as well as we should have been doing away from home this season and to pick up three points at this stage of the season would give everyone a great lift.
"I thought we were a bit unlucky to lose to Leyton Orient earlier in the season. We made a couple of mistakes that were punished on the day. We are aiming to put that right with a positive result.
"It was an excellent point for us on Saturday. We showed a great fighting spirit and I thought we deserved to get something from it. There were not many people fancying us to get anything when we were 2-0 down at the break, but we were much better in the second half.
Dan added: "I think we will have to show that type of character to get ourselves out of it. We have shown it before this season, like when we had to come back against Tranmere and a result like that does give us extra confidence. Hopefully, we can build on that result and it can turn our season around a bit."
