Lowe Looking Forward To Forest Test
Ryan Lowe was obviously delighted that his superbly timed volley proved to be the difference between Crewe and a spirited Northampton Town at the weekend. Lowe, who has now hit five goals in all competitions showed all the confidence in the world to attack a loose ball and fired accurately past Northampton's number one Mark Bunn just before the hour mark. Crewe held firm to pick up all three points and are now amazingly just five points off top spot.
As Lowe and the lads have been saying, this league is still very tight and our mini-run has seen us move into a healthy tenth spot in the table.
After hitting a wonderful winner, Lowe told Crewe Alex World: "I've just hit it and luckily for me, it has gone in. I want to score more goals and I think I can. It is part and parcel of my game and the coaching staff are always on us to score more.
"All I can do is to keep believing in myself and keep getting in those positions. Hopefully I can keep on keep scoring goals and help the team."
Although Lowe was again the match winner on Saturday, he was full of praise for the defence and goalkeeper, who withstood some late pressure to secure the points for the Railwaymen.
Lowe told the club's TV Station: "The defence and goalkeeper were brilliant and have been brilliant over the last few weeks. They were outstanding and Ben was in top form with that late save. He is a good keeper, so we know he is capable of making saves like that.
"We have gained some more confidence because of the run we have been able to put together and now we are looking forward to going to Nottingham Forest and testing ourselves there."
