Church Excited To Feature In FA Cup
On loan starlet Simon Church has expressed his delight in having the nod to feature in tomorrow's FA Cup clash with League two outfit MK Dons.
Church has had a storming loan period with the Alex since joining us last month on an original one-month loan, but now having had his time with the club extended beyond Christmas is relishing the go ahead from Steve Coppell to play in the FA Cup.
Simon told crewealex.net: "It's always been a dream of mine to play in the FA Cup, it's one of the biggest Cups in the Country so I'm really looking forward to it and I'm really happy that Steve Coppell has let me be involved in it.
"You play against different types of teams and different levels of technical ability so I'm really looking forward to it."
The young striker is under no illusions though and insists that it is not going to be an easy game as Paul Ince's side are on a run of form as they sit at the helm of the League below, however, we're under a run of our own at the moment and Church believes that we have what it takes to progress into the second round.
Church says: "MK Don's are flying at the moment but we just have to keep on playing as we have been and I'm sure that we will get a win."
Despite being a fan of Paul Ince since he was a child, the pacey forward is more looking forward to the game and hopefully a win than he is of meeting his hero.
He added: "I used to support Manchester United when I was younger, so I used to watch him all the time, I have all the video's of him, he's a bit of a hero, but I'm looking to beat them - it will be good."
