Suhaj Hoping To Remain In League
Crewe Alexandra's former forward Pavol Suhaj is hoping to remain in the Football League despite a fairly successful trial game with Stafford Rangers. The towering Slovakian, who made just two substitute appearances for Crewe last season has been training at Marston Road but he is still hopeful that a Football League club will offer him a trial over the pre-season period and possibly a new contract.
Suhaj is available on a Bosman free transfer after Crewe elected not to offer him a new contract this summer and the former Slovakian Under-21 International is reluctant to return to his native country in a quest to resurrect his career.
Suhaj admits there has been in interest from other clubs, but he is just waiting patiently for the call.
Pavol told the club's official web-site: "I have trained with Stafford and played in a match for them and although it was good and I enjoyed it, I am looking to stay in the League. I don't really want to drop into the Conference, so I'm just waiting to see what happens. Stafford have been great with me."
"There has been a bit of interest and hopefully something can be sorted where I can go there and have a trial. I'm still waiting to hear from Macclesfield and Rochdale have declared an interest too.
"There has been talk of Blackpool needed a taller striker, so hopefully I might be able to get a trial there. I'm told their manager is looking for a target man and it would be great to get a move to the Championship.
He added: "I'm still hopeful that I can remain in England. Although I didn't play as many games as I would have liked at Crewe, I still enjoyed it and learnt a lot. I just want regular football now."
